The two basic areas to make a name in the HDTV world are size and thinness. Panasonic has cornered the big market with its 150-inch plasma, and LG.Philips is trying to make headway in the thinness arena with its new 0.77-inch (19.8mm) 47-inch LCD HDTV. The Ultraslim will use CCFL technology to illuminate the screen instead of traditional LCD lighting techniques, so we're eager to see if these TVs become available when they're scheduled to in March. Release: March 2008.
Pros: Incredible 0.77-inch form factor
Cons: Pricing still a mystery
