HP expanded on its MediaSmart family at CES with the debut of the MediaSmart Receiver, a new wireless digital media receiver for an HDTV. Basically, the x280N is a set-top box that allows you to wirelessly stream content from a PC source to your HDTV via 802.11b/g/n. Like most fancy set-top boxes, the features it promises are cool, but coordinating setup between an HDTV, a networked PC and this receiver is likely no easy task. It's supposed to be available sometime this spring, with no word on exact pricing yet. Release: January 2008.
Pros: Wirelessly stream multimedia from your PC to your HDTV
Cons: Setup likely not easy
