If you would prefer thinness over gigantic diagonal sizes in HDTVs, Pioneer showed us the recipe at the CES show floor.

Forget the giant televisions, this Pioneer Kuro concept TV was the coolest HDTV at the show. At only 9mm thin, it was slimmer than any phone we had on us, but we hardly even noticed how thin it was because it was hard to take our eyes off the front. Pioneer uses a new technology that cuts the light from unused pixels, resulting in a much deeper black, and a contrast ratio that is almost immeasurable. We saw the Pioneer turned on in a pitch black room, or rather we didn't see anything at all, the blacks were so perfectly deep. When money isn't an object, this will be the plasma to buy. Release: January 2008.
Pros: Superior picture quality. Thinness has to be seen to be believed.
Cons: Only a concept. Will probably cost a pretty penny.
