Fujitsu's LifeBook U810, a 5.6-inch convertible tablet micro-PC, will be paired with AT&T's soon-to-be-unveiled high-speed HSUPA network. Weighing only 1.56 pounds, a device this small needed a Wide Area Network (WAN) to really bring out its full potential, since it's too small to sport an optical drive. AT&T's HSUPA network isn't officially available just yet, so expect to the WAN LifeBook U810 when HSUPA becomes publicly available -- which should be in a few months. Release: January 2008. Price: $1000.
Pros: One of the first notebooks to offer next-gen HSUPA from AT&T; ultraportable; doubles as a convertible tablet
Cons: May be too small for the average consumer; will probably cost more than the average laptop
