Hands-on with the Archos 705 widescreen PMPBy Philip Berne, 9 January 2008
Sporting a 7-inch widescreen display, we wonder if the Archos 705 PMP is what video lovers on the go have been waiting for.

Archos 705 Gallery »
Archos 705 We've never been huge fans of the somewhat utilitarian design of the Archos players, so its somewhat ironic that we appreciate the largest of the bunch precisely for its sleek elegance. We like that Archos has left the buttons to the smaller devices, like the Archos 605, as the Archos 705 has plenty of room to touch the screen. It isn't a small device, but it would be a good size for traveling, and we're already fans of the Archos interface and player capabilities. Release: January 2008. Price: $350.
Pros: Large, bright screen. Up to 160GB storage capacity. All touch interface. Good content offerings and capabilities.
Cons: 7-inches may be too large and heavy for most casual users. Archos needs better media transfer software, still.
