Sony's new notebooks include a desktop replacement, an ultraportable as well as a thin-and-light notebook.
Sony Vaio AR desktop replacement
Featuring a 17-inch XBRITE-HiColor full HD 1080 widescreen display, the AR model is powered by a 2.5GHz Intel Core 2 processor for high-definition content management and gaming. It comes loaded with 4GB of RAM, 400GB of storage, a 512MB dedicated graphics card and Blu-ray technology. Priced at about $3300, this laptop also has an external CableCARD compliant TV tuner for viewing or recording HDTV programming.
Sony Vaio TZ Ultraportable
Outfitted with a carbon fiber chassis, this notebook combines 64GB of SSD memory with 250GB of HDD space, creating a roomy 314GB storage configuration. Powered by a Intel Core 2 processor, it features an 11.1-inch widescreen dispaly and weighs just about 2.7 pounds - making it ideal for travel. The notebook is priced at about $3600.
Sony Vaio SZ thin-and-light notebook
Equipped with a Intel Core 2 Duo processor, this model features 4GB of RAM, 250GB of storage and a 13.3-inch widescreen display. It is housed in a light-weight carbon fiber chassis and is aimed at those who demand performance, portability and style. The SZ notebook is priced at about $2500.
