JVC today announced a range of new LCD TVs, as well as a new home theater system and a dual iPod dock.
In a move to attract iPod owners, JVC today announced four new LCD TVs with a built-in iPod dock. Each of the four new models, including three full HD 1080p sets, features JVC's new TeleDock, a flip-down iPod dock at the base of the set.
The new JVC P-Series includes the 32-inch LT-32P679, 42-inch LT-42P789, 47-inch LG-47P789 and the 52-inch LT-52P789. The LT-32P679 is a 768p model, while the others offer 1080p resolution.
When an iPod is docked, a menu appears on the TV screen for selecting music, music shuffle or video playback. The iPod can be controlled from the TV's remote, which includes a circular keypad with a control scheme that mimics the iPod's control wheel. Photos can also be displayed as a slide show along with music. During music playback, song title and artist name are displayed on the TV screen. During video playback, low resolution files, such as internet videos, can be displayed in a small screen mode. Higher resolution video can be shown in nine aspect modes at full screen. There's also the option to play music files while the TV displays television programming. In addition, the iPod will charge while docked whether the TV's power is on or off.
Besides the iPod dock and playback features, each LCD TV features a new universal remote with direct input access, a new on-screen menu system, a side-mounted USB photo viewer and ATSC/QAM tuning. Connections include three HDMI inputs, two component inputs, one S-video input, SPDIF input and an analog audio output for sending sound from an iPod or the TV through a home theater system.
The 32-inch and 42-inch LCD TVs will be available in March 2008, while the 47-inch and 52-inch LCD TVs will be available in April 2008 and June 2008, respectively.

JVC today also introduced the NX-PN7 standalone iPod dock. The new dual dock NX-PN7 handles two iPod players, and measures a mere 13 inches wide. It features sleek styling, with a black cabinet and speaker grille, and controls arrayed in a band along the bottom. The included remote features dedicated iPod control keys that simulate the iPod control wheel layout and users are able to easily shuffle, repeat, scroll and select songs from the iPod menu. The NX-PN7 will cost $150 and should be available in stores by April 2008.

Joining most other LCD TV manufacturers, JVC today also unveiled a series of ultra-slim LCD TVs. Measuring a mere 1.5 inches (39 mm) deep, with a maximum depth of 2.9-inches (74 mm) at the panel's center, the new series is comprised of the 42-inch LT-42SL89 and the 46-inch LT-46SL89. Both offer full HD resolution at 1920 by 1080 pixels, and will be available in June 2008.
In addition, JVC today announced the TH-F3 home theater system, a 4.1-channel system featuring a DVD receiver with HDMI output with 1080p up-conversion, USB Host, an iPod docking station and DivX playback. The TH-F3 features JVC's front surround technology combined with a new speaker design, eliminating the need for rear speakers. The new system is designed to complement the latest generation of flat panel TVs, with a black-on-black main unit and wall-mountable main speakers. To reduce resonance, the speaker cabinet is made from high-density material with wood reinforcement. In addition, new JVC Clear Voice Function circuitry aims to enhance the dialog to ensure that it's clearly heard. Also included is a 6.5-inch subwoofer.
The JVC TH-F3 will be selling for $500 in May 2008.
