Active Wacom digitizer added to convertible tablet, while HDX gets Nvidia's GeForce 8800M GTS.
With the Consumer Electronics Show set to begin in Las Vegas next week, Hewlett-Packard announced on Thursday the release of the Pavilion tx2000, an update to its 12.1-inch convertible tablet, and a graphics update to its monolithic 20.1-inch HDX multimedia laptop.
The new Pavilion tx2000 adds a Wacom digitizer and comes with AMD Turion 64 X2, a 12.1-inch 1280 x 800 WXGA touchscreen that rotates 180 degrees and Windows Vista as the default OS. Other standard features include a webcam, microphone and a glossy HP Echo Imprint finish.
HP's massive 20.1-inch gaming laptop is getting a graphics update, as HP replaces ATI's Mobility Radeon 2600 XT with Nvidia's GeForce 8800M GTS. One of the largest laptops on the market, the HDX starts at $2,000.
The updated HDX is planned to be made available later this month, while the Pavilion tx2000 goes on sale Jan. 8 and retails for $1,300.
