For under $20, Kingston's external memory card reader handles almost every available type of portable memory.

California memory maker Kingston Technology announced a new 19-in-1 memory card reader on Wednesday, appropriately named the Kingston Media Reader. Less than 4 inches long, this external USB device makes it easy to get photos, videos or other data off virtually any type of memory card.

The Media Reader supports CompactFlash Type I and II, SD, MMC and Memory Stick, just to name a few. It's powered through the USB connection, forgoing power cables altogether, and can transfer at USB 2.0 speeds (480 Mbps).

It's available from Kingston now and retails for $17.
