Western Digital increases the maximum capacity of its mobile Passport hard drives from 250 GB to 320 GB, although it uses USB 2.0 instead of FireWire.
Western Digital announced on Monday that it has upped the maximum capacity of its portable hard drive line from 250 GB to 320 GB, an increase of 21%. The Passport is Western Digital's mobile backup storage device, best suited for laptops or people who want to carry their data around with them.
If you don't want to fill up your internal hard drive with music but still want music, the WD Passport is an easy way to carry your music/video collection with you. Data fiends should note however that the Passport's interface is USB 2.0 (which is limited to 480 mb/s) only, users looking for a FireWire b connection (800 mb/s) should steer toward WD's My Book Pro line.
The Passport weighs five ounces and is available is five colors -- black, white, red, green and pink -- for $200 from Western Digital.
