New company to unveil satellite technology allowing Full HD video and lossless 7.1 digital audio at CES 2008.
If XstreamHD has their way, gone will be the days of 720p/1080i being the highest quality broadcast/satellite video signal available for consumers. The upstart company today announced their new transport network technology that will allow the delivery of 1080p HD video and 7.1 channels of lossless audio directly to users homes. George Gonzalez, President of XstreamHD. says his network is independent of existing infrastructure, allowing the transfer of Full HD video and lossless audio to the home more efficiently than any existing network.
The company says their network utilizes existing geosynchronous satellites to transport HD content to a set-top media server via a small aperture outdoor DTH satellite antenna. Once content is delivered to the server, it can be distributed to multiple media receivers set up throughout the home. XstreamHD plans to unveil the system, along with their hardward and as-of-now unannounced industry partnerships at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas in January 2008.
