Pinnacles new digital media adapter is designed to funnel all the user's digital content into their home entertainment systems.

Pinnacle Systems today announced the Pinnacle ShowCenter 250HD, a plug-and-play digital media adapter that enables users to link any home entertainment center with all of their networked PCs and network-attached storage devices.

Targeting PC users with large digital media collections who want to enjoy content on their home entertainment system, the ShowCenter 250HD is compatible with UPnP AV media server applications and can be used with Windows Vista, Windows XP or Mac OS systems. Equipped with built-in wired Ethernet and wireless (802.11b/g) networking, the ShowCenter 250HD lets users stream HD videos to their HDTV, view digital photos in HD resolution and listen to digital music files on their home theater system. The included remote control allows access to all the user’s PC-based digital media for playback on their home entertainment system, like Windows Media DRM-protected files purchased and downloaded to a PC or media files stored on a USB storage device

In addition to video playback of Windows Media Video 9, WMV-DRM, MPEG-1, MPEG-2, MPEG-4 AVI, DivX, and XviD files, the 250HD supports HD playback of Windows Media Video 9, DivX HD and MPEG-4 file formats with resolutions of up to 1080i. Supported music formats range from MP3, WMA, WMA Pro and WMA lossless to WMA-DRM and PCM WAV uncompressed.

The 250HD’s input/output options include a SCART 21-pin connector for composite, Y/C, RGB, and stereo audio, component, composite and S-Video outputs, two stereo RCA audio outputs, two digital audio outputs (1 x RCA coaxial, 1 x Toslink optical). Other inputs/outputs include 100BASE-T Ethernet, a 802.11g Wi-Fi module, an IR receiver and USB 2.0 connector (located on the front panel).

The Pinnacle ShowCenter 250HD will be available in November 2007 at an MSRP of $200.
