Powered by Windows Mobile 6, AT&T's new Pantech Duo offers both QWERTY and numeric sliding keypads, in addition to HSDPA connectivity.
AT&T and Pantech announced today that the Pantech Duo is now available in the U.S. exclusively from AT&T. The Pantech Duo features both a full QWERTY and a numeric keypad in one device, accompanied by Windows Mobile 6 and UMTS/HSDPA support.
By combining full QWERTY and numeric keypads, AT&T and Pantech hopes the Duo will offer an environment for both work and entertainment related services. The Pantech Duo will include Microsoft's Direct Push technology for up-to-date e-mail delivery as well as supporting Microsoft's new Mobile Device Manager announced last week.
Measuring 4.02 by 1.9 by 0.83 inches, the Pantech Duo sports a QVGA display for viewing AT&T entertainment content such as HBO, MTV and ESPN programming. Furthermore, the Duo supports AT&T Mobile Music and CV services, which lets users manage a variety of multimedia libraries as well as download and play music.
Also onboard are applications such as Internet Explorer Mobile and Windows Media Player 10 Mobile, in addition to Stereo Bluetooth support. AT&T has also included its Xpress Mail push e-mail service, which supports most popular POP3/IMAP personal e-mail services.
The Pantech Duo is available now in the U.S. exclusively from AT&T for a introductory price of $200 with a two-year contract and mail-in rebate.
