It's an entertainment focused event, but today it was all about full-fledged business smartphones in San Francisco.
It seems like the opening day of CTIA Fall in San Francisco turned into a "Windows Mobile open day". Steve Ballmer reached out to businesses in his keynote, hoping to get more of them signed up for Windows Mobile phones. During the keynote, he also unveiled a software upgrade for Windows Mobile, to be available in early 2008, which will enable remote management capabilities. The full story on that can be found here.
Steve Ballmer also took the liberty of unveiling the BlackJack II, the successor of Samsung and AT&T's popular BlackJack QWERTY business phone. Hosted in the same petite design, the BlackJack II comes with Windows Mobile 6, HSDPA connectivity and TeleNav GPS navigation. The full story on that can be found here.
The day before, i-mate pretty much stole the scene with their distinctive approach to the business smartphone concept. During a roundtable discussion at the Smartphone Summit, i-mate even got to demonstrate the smartness of their concept. The full story on that can be found here.
