Verizon Wireless' new USB727 EV-DO modem offers data storage of up to 4GB through microSD slot.
Verizon Wireless today announced the availability of the USB727 modem. Developed by Novatel Wireless, the USB727 features an integrated microSD slot for data storage. The microSD slot is not of the new high-capacity kind, so supported memory capacity stops at 4GB.
The USB727 is designed to work with any computing device equipped with a Type A USB port, and the card is optimized for Verizon Wireless' EV-DO Rev. A network. Providing download speeds between 0.6 and 1.4 Mbps and upload speeds of 0.5 to 0.8 Mbps, the USB727 modem comes with VZAccess Manager Software that promises an easy setup process.
The USB727 is available from Verizon Wireless at $150 after a $50 mail-in rebate and a new two-year agreement. Sprint customers can also get the same card for $80 after a mail-in rebate and a new two-year agreement.
