Western Digital has introduced a new, smaller update to the My Book line of external hard drives, including the My Book Home Edition, My Book Office Edition and the My Book Essential Edition. Ranging from 320 GB to 1 TB, the drives come in a case the size of an average paperback book.
The most full-featured of the new drives, the Office Edition is compatible with both Windows 2000/XP/Vista and Mac 10.4.8, and features automatic backup, USB 2.0 and remote access from the internet. Western Digital’s small business tools allow users to control desktops remotely, share computer screens for online meetings, provide access to files on any computer. The case features a capacity gauge and a Kensington security slot, and also comes loaded with Google Toolbar, Google Desktop and Picasa software.
My Book Home Edition, My Book Office Edition and My Book Essential Edition are available now in capacities ranging from 320GB to 1TB. The product family ranges from $130 to $380 depending on
model and capacity.
