The Lumix line's newest D-SLR features an LCD screen that can be used to preview shots before snapping them.
The LUMIX DMC-L10, Panasonic’s first SLR with face detection, has a 2.5-inch LCD that rotates 270 degrees. The 10-megapixel sensor also has a filter system that prevents dust from collecting on the sensor and degrading photo quality.
The face detection feature focuses and sets auto-exposure and detects up to 15 human faces simultaneously, and the auto ISO Control settings measure the movement of subjects and sets ISO level accordingly.
The DMC-L10 also has what Panasonic calls their Live View LCD, which lets users view the image on the camera after making exposure compensation adjustments, but before taking the shot. While in manual mode, the user can also enlarge part of the subject on LCD and freely move the magnified area.
To combat dust, the DMC-L10 has a Supersonic Wave Filter system that uses vibrations to shake off dust clinging to the sensor. The DMC-L10 comes standard with a Leica 14-50mm lens.
The Lumix DMC-L10 will be available in October 2007 for a MSRP of $1,300.
