We've seen the Sony Ericsson W580i plenty of times before, but never in the hands of a U.S. carrier. That changed today, as AT&T is now offering the party-centric slider for $80, with a contract agreement. The phone features Sony's new shake control, which lets you skip tracks on the Walkman by getting violent with the phone, as well as the flashing lights that can be set to correspond to specific callers. The phone also features an FM radio, as well as a pedometer for active listeners.
And the feature set goes on and on. The screen is QVGA resolution, and the camera has a 2-megapixel sensor. AT&T notes that the device will feature an AT&T Music folder, which presumably means that Napster and Yahoo Music could play on the phone, though we wonder if these subscription services will play nice with the built-in Walkman player, already one of our favorite music players on a cell phone. The quad-band phone accepts Memory Stick Micro cards, unfortunately, and can stream music over stereo Bluetooth devices.
The Sony Ericsson Walkman W580i is available immediately on AT&T's site.
