New Wi-Fi camera allow uploading to Nikon's server and blog sites for viewing, downloading and sharing.
Nikon has announced the the Wi-Fi enabled Coolpix S51c and the S51, two new compact digital cameras with Nikon's wave-surface design.
The S51c and S51 pair 8-megapixel sensors with a new digital image processing engine and a built-in "right-angle" optical lens shift vibration reduction. Light sensitivity up to ISO 1600 allows decent low-light and fast-moving shots. They also feature a metallic finish, 3x zoom lens and 3.0-inch LCD screens with ultra-violet coating.
Built-in Wi-Fi support on the s51c allows users to upload shots directly from the camera to Nikon's my Picturetown server for anytime access using their Picture Bank function. Users can also upload them directly to a blog, or use Picture Mail to trigger an email notification to friends when new pictures are available to view and download. Both models include Pictmotion, which lets users create audio/visual slideshows by selecting favorite images and movies and combining them with music and visual styles.
The Coolpix S51c will be available in silver and black while the S51 will be available in silver, black, blue, brown, red and vivid magenta. Price and release date are to be determined.
