Adding two more models to their YouTube-branded digital camera line, Casio continues to push mobile video with h.264 support and a proprietary YouTube uploader.
The two latest Exilim models to feature a dedicated YouTube capture mode, the 8.1-megapixel EX-V8 and the 10.1-megapixel EX-Z1080 enable users to shoot and save movies at the optimum size, quality and other settings ideal for YouTube. Casio's included software application allows users to upload their h.264 movies to YouTube with one click.
The packs an internal 7X optical internal zoom lens into a 1-inch thick casing. It uses four different blur reduction technologies, including a mechanical sensor-based image stabilization mechanism. The EX-V8 is also capable of continuously shooting at 4 shots/second with its high-speed shutter, but only in 2-megapixel resolution.
The EX-Z1080 (check out our image gallery here) lacks the 7x zoom of the EX-V8, but offers 10-megapixel resolution and extremely high sensitivity settings, up to a maximum ISO of 6400, and is available in gray, black, blue and pink. It is also capable of 7 shots per second in its high-speed continuous shutter mode, at 2-megapixel resolution.
The EX-V8 will retail at about $330 and the EX-Z1080 at $280; both models will be available in September.
