XM, Delphi team up to deliver a full-color radio with the ability to pause, rewind and fast-forward through radio broadcasts
XpressRC is Delphi's first-ever satellite radio featuring a full-color split-screen display, 60-minute replay and song storage.
The XpressRC features a real-time programming guide (much like one you would see from a digital cable or satellite TV provider) displaying channel information, artist names and song titles. The device has a 60-minute pause and replay feature, with a buffer that saves the last 60 minutes of programming so listeners can pause, rewind and replay what they just heard. The XpressRC also has the ability to save up to 10 songs for future listening, although compared to Sirius devices, this seems rather limited.
Highlighting the XpressRC's feature set is automatically adjusting brightness levels, a TuneSelect feature that alerts listeners whenever their favorite songs, artists or sports teams are being played on another channel, and FrequencyFinder, which scans and locates FM frequencies so users can listen to XM through their FM radio speakers.
Manufactured by Delphi, the XpressRC radio will be available in fall 2007 for $170.
