Acer's two new laptops were co-designed with BMW, feature Intel Core 2 Duo processors.
Acer today introduced a mid-range and a low-end multimedia laptop, the Acer 5920 and the Acer 4710, respectively. The Acer 5920 features a 15.4-inch screen, and can show HD-DVD movies. For home theater sound, the 5920 uses Dolby Home Theater to drive up to six speakers.
Both laptops were designed with help from the BMW design team, though early press photos have been somewhat generic. Still, the company is flaunting new materials, paint jobs and logo placement, even on the low-end 4710. Like the larger 5920, the 4710 features an Intel Core 2 Duo processor, and also comes with a built-in Web cam.
The Acer 5920 is available now for $2000. The Acer 4710 can be purchased for $600.
