We open up the Nokia E65, a Symbian S60 slider with some classy looks and a solid set of features, though not all of them work stateside. Check out our hands-on pics.
Like most unlocked Nokia phones, the E65 is better abroad than it is here. In the U.S., we lose the WCDMA capabilities, so high-speed networking is out, but the phone still features Wi-Fi and a tight slider design. Running the Symbian S60 OS, the E65 is a light business phone with a classy, leather-like finish on the back. The screen on the phone we saw was very sharp, a QVGA display capable of a rich 16 million colors. We weren't blown away by this phone, especially not with the Nokia 8600 Luna sitting nearby, but overall this could be a solid slider, though it could have been better with some U.S. radio bands.
