In the mood for upgrades these days, Sony is about to roll out a slimmer version of its Playstation Portable.
Following the recent announcement of an upgraded PS3, Sony today announced an upgrade of its Playstation Portable. With a more streamlined form factor (189 g, 18.6 mm thick) compared to the original (280 g, 23 mm thick), the portable game console also sports a video-out port for connection to televisions. Sony has also reduced the load times during game sessions slightly.
The upgraded Sony PSP will start shipping in September, and retail for $170.
For a limited time, the Sony PSP will be available in Ice Silver and Ceramic White, starting on September 9 and October 10, respectively. Both models will retail for $200, and each will include a game title (Daxter and Star Wars Battlefront: Renegade Squadron, respectively).
