Iomega shows off its eGoBy Jennifer Hooker, 26 June 2007

The portable hard drive sports a sleek design and an eye-catching red shell.

External hard drives are usually not the most attractive devices with boxy, bland designs, but Iomega showcases its narcissistic side with its eGo. The eGo portable hard drive has a stylish, curvy body that is wrapped in a red hue with chrome rims at the top and bottom. The hard drive is rather compact at 5.3 by 3.5 by 0.8 inches and 0.5 pounds. The Iomega eGo also has DropGuard technology that protects it from tumbles of up to 51 inches.

Though the eGo is petite on the outsite, it packs in 160GB of memory under its hood. The external hard drive supports USB 2.0 and USB 1.1, and is powered by your computer without requiring a separate AC connection. The eGo is compatible with both Macs and PCs, and includes EMC Retrospect HD software for backing up your computer.

The Iomega eGo is available immediately and retails for $160.
