The pair of business phones are now available unlocked in the U.S.
Two of Nokia's latest additions to its E-series of business phones, the E61i and the E65 are now available stateside. We suspected that we might see the pair of handsets as unlocked import phones when they were first announced back in February at GSM, and they can currently be found at various online retailers, such as Dell.com, Gateway and Mobileplanet.com. Be prepared to shell out about $400 for each of the phones.
The E61i is the successor to the E61, the European counterpart to Nokia's E62, and features a full QWERTY keyboard, as well as support for a plethora of e-mail options including BlackBerry Connect, POP, IMAP, Good Mobile Messaging and Nokia's IntelliSync. The E61i includes a WCDMA radio, but U.S users won't be able to take advantage of the high-speed networking since it only supports the 2100 MHz band. The phone does however support Wi-Fi and has VoIP services.
Nokia's E65 features a slider form factor, but lacks the full QWERTY keypad. Like the E61i, high-speed WLAN networking is handled on the 2100 MHz band, so U.S. users will have to stick to Wi-Fi connectivity. The E65 also offers support for VoIP and features a 2-megapixel camera, music player and a microSD expansion slot.
