Sanyo's successor to its entry-level SCP-3100 is now available on Sprint. The SCP-3200 picks up where the 3100 left off, but it's still not a powerhouse in the features department. Sanyo finally added Bluetooth support on the 3200, as well as parental controls, which allows parents to monitor and regulate phone usage, making the flip phone a nice option for teens and tweens. The SCP-3200 also includes GPS and access to Sprint's family locator service. Rounding out the 3200's specs are a speakerphone, a VGA camera and phone as modem capabilities, but without EV-DO support, we're not sure how helpful this will be. The 3200 also ditches the PTT capabilities that we saw on the 3100.
Sanyo updates the clamshell's appearance by getting rid of the stubby external antenna in favor of an internal one. However, the 3200 is a bit on the bulky side with a 0.8 inch waistline. The phone is rather bland, but pumps up its style with three color choices, including pink, blue and black.
The Sanyo SCP-3200 is currently available from Sprint and retails for $50 with a two-year service contract.
