The dual-sided candy bar will soon be available with a scarlet shade of paint, but it still keeps the same feature set.
The Samsung UpStage was already one of the more stylish phones on Sprint's lineup, with its dual-faced design for music and calling, but the manufacturer upped the ante by wrapping it in a fiery red shell. However, the red candy bar isn't participating in the (PRODUCT) Red charity campaign like the Motorola Red RAZR, which is also in Sprint's stable of handsets. The UpStage Red maintains the slim profile of the original UpStage at 0.4 inches and is light as a feather at just 2.6 ounces.
The UpStage Red holds on to the same features, including access to Sprint's Power Vision services, stereo Bluetooth and microSD memory expansion to store all your tracks. The handset also has a 1.3-megapixel camera/camcorder, and bundles in a battery wallet, which the carrier claims extends the talk time to 6.3 hours and the listening time to 16 hours.
Like the original UpStage, the UpStage Red will retail for $100 and should be on Sprint store shelves by June 18.
