The Hangar18 HD Entertainment Center is the first media center PC to offer an AMD LIVE processor.

Alienware introduced its Hangar18 HD Entertainment Center, which is the first media center PC to offer an AMD LIVE chip set. The Hangar18 HD Entertainment Center includes a high-definition DVR with up to 4 TV tuners, a 5.1 channel amplifier, HDMI output and a DVD/CD burner/player. As the Hanger18 HD also runs Windows Vista Home Premium, users will be able to download and stream music and video via Wi-Fi or an Ethernet connection. The media PC also features up to 2 terabytes of hard drive storage for your music, movies or TV shows.

The Hangar18 comes in three different flavors, which offer different amounts of storage and higher viewing resolutions. The most basic version of the Alienware media PC includes a 250 GB hard drive and an NVIDIA integrated graphics card that produces images with 720p resolution. However, the video card is upgradeable, and higher-end cards offer resolution up to 1080p.

The Alienware media PC sports a rather streamlined look at 4.2 by 18.4 by 15.6 inches and resembles a stereo receiver more than a traditional PC. Alienware's Hanger18 HD Entertainment center will end up costing you a pretty penny when it ships on June 21, with prices ranging from $2,000 to $3,900.
