Sound ID rolled out its SM100 Bluetooth headset, including features similar to those found on its sibling, the SoundFlavors headset. Both headsets feature three different sound preferences, including normal, moderate and strong. Like the SoundFlavors, the SM100 can also function as a two-way radio when paired with a second SM100 headset. The new Sound ID headset also has two other function modes; the standard phone mode, which connects to your Bluetooth-enabled phone over the hands-free or headset profile, and the environment mode, which seems to function as a hearing aid by amplifying voices in your area.
The SM100 also features Sound ID's Noise Navigation technology, which according to the company, acts as an "autofocus" feature for your ear by minimizing background noise and wind, and enhancing voices.
The Sound ID SM100 has an in-ear design but also includes adjustable earloops for added stability. The headset sports a rather bland silver and black shell that measures in at 1.8 by 1 by 1.3 inches, and tips the scales at just 0.4 ounces. Sound ID claims that the headset gets about 8 hours of talk time and about 24 hours of battery life in environment mode.
The Sound ID SM100 is available immediately and retails for $130.
