The Samsung SCH-r510 ultra slim candy bar arrives on Alltel and features 3G Axcess.
The Samsung SCH-r510, also known as the Wafer, is now available on Alltel, sporting an anorexic profile that is just about a quarter of an inch thick. The Wafer appears to be a CDMA cousin to Samsung's Trace, which is available on T-Mobile. However, the Wafer has an indigo shell, rather than the champagne hue found on the Trace. The SCH-r510 is also light as a feather at just 2.7 ounces.
Despite the Wafer's petite design, the candy bar manages to include a bevy of multimedia features under the hood, such as stereo Bluetooth, an MP3 palyer, XM Radio Mobile, Alltel's Axcess TV and Axcess Mobile Guide. The handset also has a 1.3-megapixel camera and microSD memory expansion. Alltel is also offering its widget-like Celltop service, along with its My Circle calling service that allows you to make unlimited calls to any 10 people, regardless of their networks.
The Samsung SCH-r510 is available immediately from Alltel and retails for $50 with a two year service contract.
