Back in late February, AT&T launched the Motorola RAZR V3xx
draped in a gold shade of paint. It seems that one precious metallic hue wasn't enough for the carrier, as the RAZR is now available in a shiny platinum shell. Unlike Nokia and its Sirocco 8800 Gold, which is plated in real 18-carat gold, Motorola just springs for the paint color and not the real stuff.
The RAZR V3xx Platinum keeps the same specs as the original, including support for AT&T's HSDPA network, access to mobile e-mail, instant messaging, stereo Bluetooth and a 1.3-megapixel camera. The clamshell also includes a media player with access to Cingular Video and AT&T Music, which we're guessing is the same as Cingular Music. Rounding out the flip phone's features are microSD memory expansion, a speakerphone and speaker-independent voice dialing.
Other than the color change, the only difference between the V3xx Platinum and the previously released models is the price. The original V3xx retails for $50 with a two-year service contract, the gold version costs $80 and the platinum version will set you back $100, double the price of the original. All three handsets are available immediately from AT&T.
