In the world of cell phones, it seems that one color just isn’t enough, so Samsung released the SCH-u740 messaging phone on Verizon Wireless encased in a coat of black paint. The dual-hinged messaging clamshell holds onto its looks otherwise, with touch-sensitive music controls beneath its exterior display. The flip phone also maintains its dimensions at 3.8 by 2 by 0.6 inches and its full QWERTY keyboard.
Like the original metallic u740 that we recently reviewed, the Samsung SCH-u740 Black offers up several multimedia features, including access to V Cast Music, V Cast Video, VZ Navigator and Verizon's Chaperone service.
The unique clamshell also has a slew of messaging options including mobile e-mail, SMS, MMS and instant messaging. Rounding out the U740 Black's feature set are a 1.3-megapixel camera with flash, a speakerphone, Bluetooth and microSD memory expansion.
The Samsung SCH-u740 Black is available immediately from Verizon Wireless and costs $100 with a two-year service contract.
