The home theater system can play media from your computer or your digital audio player.
JVC's Sophisti DD-3 features the typical components to a home theater system, including a main unit, speakers and a subwoofer. The left and right speakers are rather petite at just 15 inches tall, and are encased in black and silver. JVC doesn't throw in rear speakers, but the company claims that its Direct Drive technology provides theater-like sound without the need for rear speakers.
The DD-3's main unit has the standard DVD player and AM/FM radio, but also includes an Ethernet connection that lets you connect your PC to the DD-3. Once the connection is established, music, video and image files can be enjoyed using your home theater. The Sophisti DD-3 can also connect to multiple computers using a wired or wireless router.
The JVC Sophisti DD-3 also has a USB port, which you can use to connect your digital audio player, digital camera or flash drive and listen to music or watch photos. The home theater system also offers built-in decoding for Dolby Digital, DTS and Dolby Pro Logic II, as well as an HDMI interface.
The JVC Sophisti DD-3 is available immediately and retails for $1000.
