This MP3 player features a fun, sporty look and will be released in pink and blue.
Sandisk unveiled its Sansa Shaker digital audio player that was designed with kids in mind. The Shaker features an hourglass shape to fit little hands easily and fun controls for which the MP3 player was named. To switch songs, you simply have to shake the device, though Sandisk doesn't elaborate on how sensitive the Shaker is to jostles, and if a light bounce will cause a song to switch before it's over. The Sansa Shaker also features controls on bands along the top and bottom to select songs and adjust the volume.
The Sandisk Sansa Shaker features twin headphone jacks to encourage sharing among friends and a built-in speaker to listen to your favorite tracks without the need for earbuds. The MP3 player, which will be released in kid friendly pink and blue, will bundle stickers and a lanyard so youngsters can personalize the digital audio player.
The Sandisk Sansa will also include a 512MB SD card, which according to Sandisk can fit up to 125 MP3s. The memory can be bumped up with a larger SD card for those with extensive music collections. Sandisk will also preload five songs on each Sansa Shaker. The device runs on a AAA battery, which Sandisk claims gets about 15 hours of listening time when using one pair of headphones.
The Sandisk Sansa Shaker will be available toward the end of April and should retail for $40.
