The carrier is now shipping its own flavor of the sleek clamshell with a shiny, silver finish and a bevy of features.
Rumors have been circulating for weeks about the Motorola KRZR K1 making a T-Mobile debut, and it turns out they were right. The carrier introduced a silver version of the flip phone, which it claims sports a "unique reflective finish." Other than its new coat of paint, this KRZR keeps the same feature set as Cingular's K1, including a 2-megapixel camera, microSD memory expansion, stereo Bluetooth and a music player that supports AAC and MP3 files. Like Cingular's KRZR, the T-mobile clamshell lacks 3G support, but the K1 is a quad-band phone, meaning jet-setters can chat around the world.
The KRZR K1 does include a solid amount of calling and messaging features. The flip phone supports T-Mobile's myFaves calling service for unlimited calls to five people. The KRZR also includes voice-activated dialing, a speakerphone and instant messaging support for AOL, ICQ, MSN and Yahoo.
The KRZR K1 is available immediately from T-Mobile and retails for $150 with a two-year service contract.
