The popular gaming console gets updated with a sleek black shell, a 120GB hard drive and an HDMI port.
The Xbox 360 Elite gets an upgrade with a 120GB hard drive, a high-definition cable and an HDMI port for transmitting movies and TV shows at 1080p resolutions. The Xbox 360 Elite will also sport a stylish black case, and the Elite's bundled controller and Xbox LIVE headset will also feature the black hue. The Elite will hit store shelves April 29 and should retail for $480.
Like the original Xbox 360, the Elite includes a DVD player and high-def movies can be purchased from the Xbox LIVE Marketplace. Microsoft claims that the 120 gigabyte hard drive can fit a library of Xbox LIVE Arcade games, thousands of songs and HD movies and TV shows. Xbox 360 owners who aren't going to shell out for the upgrade can buy the hard drive as a stand-alone accessory for $180.
While Microsoft will include a controller, HDMI cable and an Xbox LIVE headset, additional controllers will be available for additional $50. The Elite also has accessories like a rechargeable battery and the Xbox 360 Play & Charge kit that allow you to recharge your controller's battery and play simultaneously, will be available for purchase.
