This iPod dock was designed to fit under your kitchen cabinets, and has an 8.5-inch LCD, AM/FM radio and DVD player.
A few years ago, kitchens were only visited to prepare meals and eat, but families are increasingly looking at their kitchens as the center of their homes, and are bringing their must-have media with them. Philips recently unveiled its Docking Entertainment System DCD778, which fits under your kitchen cabinets and packs in media center essentials, including an 8.5-inch LCD display with an ATSC digital TV tuner, a DVD player and a remote control.
The DCD778 doesn't neglect music lovers, as it also features an iPod dock that will charge the device, and is compatible with the iPod, iPod mini and the iPod nano. The Docking Entertainment System rounds out its multimedia features with an AM/FM radio and a CD player that can read Picture CDs. The Philips DCD778 also has an integrated cooking timer and a clock.
The DCD778 is rather compact, measuring 14.5 by 9.6 by 1.2 inches. The height of the device can be adjusted with a 3-step spacer. The Philips Docking Entertainment System DCD778 should be available the first week of April and should retail for $400.
