Korean manufacturer, COWON unleashed its D2 portable media player, which features a 2.5-inch QVGA display. The D2 was first introduced at CES 2007, and it's currently available in black and white, in 2GB and 4GB models.
The D2's display functions as a touch screen, and includes a stylus that doubles as the PMP's kickstand. The COWON D2 has an SD card slot so you can bump up the memory capacity and easily transfer files from cameras and PDAs. The D2 supports a range of media files, including WMV9, MPEG4, MP3, WMA, as well as uncompressed files like FLAC, OGG and APE. The device also includes TV-out support for watching movies on your television.
The D2 is rather petite at 3.1 by 2.2 by 0.7 inches and 3.2 ounces, but it manages to pack in an FM radio, a voice recorder and Podcast support. The media player can be personalized by creating personal wallpapers from photos.
COWON claims the battery can give you 52 hours of audio and 10 hours of video playback on a single charge, but we can't confirm this till we check out a review unit. The COWON D2 is available immediately in 2GB and 4GB models that cost $190 and $220 respectively.
