The Samsung NV11 marks the company's latest camera in its high-end, stylish NV line, as well as the most feature-packed camera in the flurry of its recent announcements. The NV11 has a 10-megapixel sensor, along with a lens by German lens manufacturer Schneider that's capable of 5X optical zoom. The camera also features Samsung's Face Recognition technology, which finds a subject's face and adjusts the auto-focus and auto-exposure settings that Samsung claims will make faces in photos more clear.
The camera also includes a 2.7 inch LCD display that's surrounded by touch-sensitive buttons that allow you to scroll through menus by sliding your finger across the keys. The NV11 can also shoot MPEG-4 videos at 30 frames/second. The Samsung NV11 will be available this spring and should retail for $400.
Samsung also unveiled the L77, which has a 7-megapixel sensor and 7X optical zoom, in a diminutive form factor that is less than an inch thick. The L77 also features high ISO sensitivity at 1600, making pictures shot in low light or at fast speeds less blurry.
The camera has a 2.5-inch LCD to view your pictures and also edit them with the in-camera editing features that the L77 offers. These include cropping functions and various color effects. The Samsung L77 will be available in April and will cost $400.
Samsung's L74 Wide also has a 7-megapixel sensor, but only 3.6X optical zoom. However, the key feature of this camera is a tour guide feature that gives tourist information for more than 4,500 regions of 30 different countries, which is geared for jet-setters looking for a camera to tote along with them. The L74 Wide also comes with a 28mm wide-angle lens. The camera features a large 3-inch touch screen LCD and Samsung's Face Recognition features, which, according to Samsung, captures your loved ones' faces with improved clarity. The L74 Wide will be released in the spring for $350.
The Samsung L73 compact point-and-shoot camera includes a 7-megapixel sensor and 3X optical zooming, high-sensitivity ISO of 1600 and mechanical image stabilization. Like the NV11, the sleek L73 features touch-sensitive controls that surround the 2.5-inch LCD. The camera also includes robust built-in editing capabilities, such as color variations and cropping functions. The L73 will be available this spring for $300.
The Samsung L700 is a stylish, basic point-and-shoot digital camera with a 7-megapixel sensor and 3X optical zoom capabilities. The L700 features a continuous shooting feature that allows you to take several images of a subject at different exposure settings, when you're trying to snap a shot of a fast-moving subject. The Samsung L700 will be available this spring and will cost $250.
