The photography giant introduced the point and shoot Z712 IS, the Z885, the C613 and the C763 with moderate megapixel counts.
Kodak announced two high-zoom digital cameras, the EASYSHARE Z712 IS and the EASYSHARE Z885. From what we saw in photos, the Z712 IS looks a bit bulky and is rather weighty at 10.6 ounces. However, the 7.1-megapixel camera includes a 12X optical zoom and mechanical image stabilization for image clarity (though we can't be sure of how clear until we get our hands on a review unit). The camera has a 2.5-inch LCD and offers on-camera cropping.
Kodak also introduced the Z885, which features an 8.1-megapixel sensor, but only 5X optical zoom. The camera also has high ISO sensitivity (up to 8000), so it can take clearer pictures in low light and when subjects are moving quickly, or so Kodak claims.
Rounding out Kodak's newly announced EASYSHARE cameras are the C613 and the C763, which are much smaller and lighter than the Z712 IS at 4.8 and 4.6 ounces respectively. The C613 features a 6.2-megapixel sensor and 3X optical zoom, along with editing options, such as color tone adjustments, preloaded backgrounds, a blurry-picture alert, on-camera cropping and an undo-delete function. The C763 includes a 7.1-megapixel sensor with 3X optical zoom, as well as a red-eye corrector and the rest of the on-camera editing features included on the C613.
The Z712 IS will be available in April and will retail for $300. The C613 and C763 will also be released in April and will set you back $120 and $180 respectively. Finally, the Z885 will hit the stores in May and will cost $200.
