The point and shoot camera features 5x optical zoom, a 2.5-inch LCD, in-camera editing and picture stabilization in a weather-resistant body.
The Olympus Stylus 780 looks like your garden-variety digital camera with a metallic silver finish (it will also be available in black). Unlike the slim Sony DSC-T100
that measured about a half inch in thickness, the 780 has a 0.9 inch waistline. The camera has a 2.5-inch LCD and backlit buttons that make easy work of navigating menus. The Stylus 780 features a weather-resistant shell meaning that you can expose the camera to the elements, and it shouldn't affect your pictures or damage the camera.
The 7.1-megapixel camera includes 5x optical zoom, along with both mechanical sensor-shift and digital image stabilization. The Stylus 780 also features in-camera editing, such as red-eye reduction, frames and color brightness. The camera features 15MB of internal memory and USB 2.0 for image transfers. Olympus bundles the USB cable and A/V cables.
Price & availability
The Olympus Stylus 780 should be available by May 2007 for about $350.
