Sony's new DSC-H9 and DSC-H7 super zoom digital cameras incorporate a range of advanced features to ease outdoor camera use.
Sony today introduced two super zoom digital cameras in the new 8-megapixel DSC-H9 and DSC-H7 models. Aimed at outdoor activities, the cameras sport a new sports shooting mode combined with high shutter speed shooting and intelligent continuous auto-focusing.
Both cameras feature Carl Zeiss 15x optical zoom lenses, automatic white balance and flash, as well as focus and exposure for correctly exposed and sharp photos. The new cameras also feature high-definition outputs that connect to HDTVs with a separately sold high-definition cable.
Both cameras provide a shutter speed of 1/4000 of a second, and are powered by the Bionz processing engine to speed up response time and image processing. Optical image stabilization and sensitivity up to ISO3200 are also to be found in the H9 and H7 models.
The H9 camera sports a 3-inch flip-up LCD screen, while the H7 camera offers a 2.5-inch LCD screen. According to Sony, the H9 is also the only Cyber-shot model in this year's line to feature NightShot technology. Equipped with Dynamic Range Optimzier and other in-camera functions such as red-eye correction and photo retouching, the DSC-H9 and DSC-H7 cameras will ship in April for approximately $480 and $400, respectively.
