Announced yesterday at the 3GSM conference in Barcelona, the eye-catching Samsung Ultra Edition U300 boasts a brushed metal shell and a sleek OLED external display. The sophisticated styling doesn't bulk up this clamshell by any means as it still manages to maintain a 0.4-inch waistline. The U300 also features a simple flat keypad with large distinct keys, plus a 2.2-inch internal screen.
The U300 doesn't forget its feature set in favor of its looks, and includes a 3-megapixel camera with flash and a media player that supports MP3, ACC, eAAC+, WMA, WMDRM, MPEG4, and H.263 files. The handset also offers TV out capabilities making it easier to view pictures and video. The clamshell makes it easy to transfer snapshots to your computer with USB 2.0 and Bluetooth 2.0. Rounding out the U300's specs are a document viewer, speakerphone and 70MB of internal memory. Unfortunately, the clamshell lacks memory expansion and 3G capabilities.
Price & availability
The Samsung Ultra Edition U300 should be available in Europe this spring, but pricing has yet to be announced.
