No, it's not quite as sexy as the new HSPDA-enabled Q q9, but the quad-band GSM/EDGE Q gsm still manages to bring some cool features to the table. First and foremost, the new Q arrives with Windows Mobile 6 installed, including some much-needed document editing capabilities. The smartphone also packs in miniSD memory expansion, stereo Bluetooth and a 1.3-megapixel camera. There's no built-in Wi-Fi, but you can always add a wireless radio through the miniSDIO port.
Otherwise, we're essentially looking at the same basic design and features as previous Qs, including a 65,000-color TFT display (still at 320 x 240), plenty of e-mail options (including Exchange, Good Mobile Messaging and Direct Push support, plus POP/IMAP access), Windows Media Player, Web browsing through the mobile version of Internet Explorer, and more. Look for the Q gsm to drop sometime in the second quarter.

With tethered modem support and a performance boost over the original, is the Sprint version of the Q the one to buy, or should you wait for the next model?
