Months after T-Mobile updated its exclusive Sidekick 3 messaging phone with special designer editions by Lifted Research Group and Diane Von Furstenberg, the carrier announced that another Sidekick is coming down the pike. T-Mobile teamed up with NBA 2006 Finals MVP Dwyane Wade for this iteration, which will feature a more athletic look, including a textured back that feels like a basketball. The eye-catching Sidekick 3 also sports a white shell and tan accents, along with handset's signature features, such as a trackball and spin-out display. As an added nod to the basketball star, the keypad's number three is marked in gold as it is Wade's jersey number.
The messaging phone also holds on to its full QWERTY keyboard and messaging apps, included e-mail and instant messaging support for AIM, Yahoo and MSN messenger. The Sidekick 3 also boasts a 1.3-megapixel camera, Bluetooth and an MP3 player. Sidekick fans won't have to wait an eternity for the Dwyane Wade Sidekick 3, since it's expected to release on February 21, and retail for $300 with a two-year service contract.
