Along with the Nokia E90, Nokia today filled out its E-series business phone line-up with the Nokia E65. Though it lacks the full QWERTY keyboard and GPS navigation of its older sibling, the E65 retains some impressive networking technology, including high-speed 3G data over WCDMA (a relative of UMTS), as well a 802.11b/g for Wi-Fi connections. Like the E90, the E65 will be able to use its WLAN connection for VOIP calls.
The E65 features a QVGA screen that can display up to 16 million colors. At 0.6 inches, the phone is not the slimmest slider on the market, but is relatively slim for Nokia's stable of devices. It will feature the full-html Nokia Web browser, which is one of our favorites. A 2-megapixel camera will take snapshots that can be stored on the phone's microSD expansion slot.
The phone is already available in select markets, and though it does feature a GSM radio on the 850 band, useful in the U.S., high-speed networking over WCDMA is handled on the 2100 band, so importers probably won't see the high-speed network capabilities.
