The sleek, high-octane clamshell boasts HSDPA support, a 2-megapixel camera/camcorder, a media player and a speakerphone under its hood.
Continuing the recent trend for cell phone manufacturers to partner up with high-end fashion designers (remember the Prada themed LG KE850 and the Dolce & Gabbana RAZR), Motorola has decided to team up with sports-car manufacturer Ferrari to release the RAZR MAXX V6 Ferrari Challenge. The flip phone features the sleek, slim lines we've come to expect from the RAZR line, but adds Ferrari's signature prancing horse crest and includes ringtones and wallpapers geared toward Ferrari aficionados. In fact, the clamshell turns on and off with the sound of an F1 engine revving.
Challenge has quite a few features packed into its shell, including twin cameras: a 2-megapixel still and camcorder, and a VGA for video conferencing. The media player supports MP3, AAC, ACC+ and MPEG4 files. The handset joins the upper echelon of RAZRs with HSDPA support. No word on whether importers will be able to cruise AT&T’s HSDPA network stateside, but the phone’s quad-band support means it could be possible. The handset rounds out its feature set with microSD memory expansion, Bluetooth and a speakerphone. The RAZR MAXX Ferrari Challenge will be available unlocked from Ferrari in mid-February for about $524.
