Nokia adds a shiny coat and shaves some weight off its venerable camcorder phone.
Design:
The biggest change in the N93i is the design. In fact, aside from the incremental upgrade to the Symbian S60 Series 3 OS, the design is the only change, but the change is significant. The original N93 was unique, but very bulky. It was more like a small camcorder than a phone. Though the N93i only pares a tenth of an inch from its thickness, the phone is considerably lighter. The finish is a super-shiny mirror, reminiscent of the recently announced Nokia N76, and prone to fingerprints as well.
Features:
The N93i doesn't change much from the original N93. The phone still supports DVD-like video recording, and provides 3G WCDMA support for European users. U.S. customers will be stuck with EDGE. Nokia demonstrated the new Vox video blogging service, which works by sending a video through an MMS-like setup to the Vox service, where it is available for all to see. The phone will be available in the first quarter of 2007 in Europe, and Nokia told us that, like the N93, a U.S. version should become available unlocked directly from Nokia's site.

Pros:
Excellent video recording quality. Easy-to-use uploading service. Great screen.
Cons:
No real feature update. No high-speed service for U.S. buyers. | | |
