The adorably small flip phone boasts a VGA camera and the standard entry-level calling features, such as a speakerphone and voice tagging.

Design

The UTStarcom claims that their CDM 8935 is the smallest CDMA camera flip phone out there, and we must admit that it is very cute. The clamshell features a glossy black finish wrapped around a curvy shell that measures 3.3 by 1.7 by 0.7 inches. While we liked the CDM 8935's simple style, we noticed that the finish was prone to smudges and scratches. Surprisingly, the keypad on this little phone was still quite comfortable, but we weren't able to navigate through the interface because our viewing model wasn't operational.

Features

The CDM 8935 is on the bland side when it comes to features and offers only the basics, including a speakerphone, MMS and voice tagging. The phone will also be customizable with a variety of ringtones, games, wallpapers and other Brew apps. However, we weren't able to take a look at any of the features personally. We are also disappointed by the lack of Bluetooth. The flip phone is expected to arrive toward the middle of next year, but pricing and a carrier weren't available. However, seeing as there is just one carrier that runs CDMA and Brew apps, it's not that hard to guess.

Pros:

Attractive, small design. Comfortable keypad.

Cons:

No Bluetooth. Scratch and smudge-prone finish.
